PROJECT
Enlarge is an independent zine that aims to extend the perception of refugees in Korea. The cover has small yellow area, yet the back cover is entirely yellow. Currently, in the Korean society, our “refugee door” is very small, but after the reader finishes the reading, the door becomes big and widely open. At the end of the zine, there is the cup donation form for people who are not used to the online form.

This video explains how people can participate in refugee installation and how admin(designer) runs the campaign. I chose cup as a medium to collect because how Korean society view refugees as unwanted resource is parallel to unwanted cups that many publics may have in their house. For example, cups that do not fit into current house interior, merchandise cup from an event, school logo printed cups and so on.

Laser cut small scale model to prepare for actual construction. I first aim the installation to be 2 m high, but later want to extend to 6m. I plan this installation because a small cup can contain small volumes of contents, but bigger cups can contain more contents. If Korea’s perception in refugees extends that means that our maturity gets bigger, just like our small cup extends to large scale cup in the end.
